Visiting Program 2020

Photos of Widen the Circle’s Visiting Program 2020, held January 23-28 in conjunction with the 20th annual Obermayer Awards ceremony. Participants visited Track 69, a memorial created by students to the tens of thousands of Jews sent to death camps from this spot. In one of the more memorable moments of the week, Joy, a student, sang a song she wrote for the dedication of the memorial.

When a handful of ninth graders from Berlin met Rolf Joseph in 2003, they were inspired by his harrowing tales of surviving the Holocaust. So inspired that they wrote a popular book about his life. Today the Joseph Group helps students educate each other on Jewish history.
