Obermayer Awards 2027 Nominations

This is the online application form for the 2027 Obermayer Awards. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 6 p.m. ET. 

The Awards honor Germans who have documented, commemorated, and breathed new life into Jewish communities that were destroyed by the Nazis. The Awards also honor innovators who have found creative ways to use the lessons of this history to foster understanding among different groups and to oppose contemporary bigotry. 

In 2027, the Obermayer Awards will be presented for the 27th time. We are very much looking forward to honoring another group of award recipients and recognizing their work. The 2027 awards will be presented on Sunday, January 31, 2027, at the Jewish Museum Berlin.

How To Nominate

Thank you for your interest in the Obermayer Awards. Before you begin, it’s very important to read our Guidelines for Nomination and FAQs. This document will provide an overview of the nomination process, answer many of your questions, and provide some samples for key elements of the final submission.
